The French government has provided 800,000 Euro (over US$1 million) in aid to the Cambodian Ministry of Health for human resource training at the University of Health Sciences (UHS).

The aid agreement was signed here on Apr. 5 by Health Minister H.E. Mam Bun Heng and French Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Christian Connan.

On the occasion, H.E. Mam Bun Heng said the purpose of this financial assistance is to support the UHS' autonomy and to enhance the UHS to become an international-standard university as well as to upgrade health professors' capacity.

Cambodia and France have cooperated in the field of health since early 1993. -AKP
