Latest Update on Cambodian-Thai Border Armed Clashes -- Third Round

-- A Cambodian military official has said that at 1725 Thai reconnaisance palnes are still flying over the areas of Thmor Doun, Ta Moan temple, and Chup Korki. Thai troops sporadically fire mortar shells into Cambodian territory. Deum Ampil online

-- At 1720  Thai "bandit aggressor" troops suspended their artillery firing into Cambodian territory, according to military officials at the frontline battlefield. Deum Ampil News

--- In the over-three-hour fighting between Cambodian and Thai troops, a Thai dog, equipped with a camera to take photos of Cambodian positions, was captured by Cambodian soldiers, a military official at the frontline battlefield told Deum Ampil News.

---According to high-ranking military officials at the frontline battlefield, at 1520 Thai troops pushed forward toward Ta Moan temple, which is in Cambodian territory. One of them was killed on the spot by Cambodian soldiers' gunfire.Deum Ampil News

-- Kampuchea Thmey reports that today's armed clashes at Ta Moan temple are more serious or violent than those of the last two days.

--  A Cambodian senior military official has said that three Thai soldiers were killed on the spot near Thmor Beh Doung area and the dead soldiers weren taken to a school in Thailand's Surin province. He added that so far four Thai soldiers have died. Deum Ampil News

-- At 1200 noon Thai troops are firing artillery shells into Cambodian territory and they have not stopped yet. Sounds of artillery firings are getting louder and so loud that can be heard all the way to the provincial town of Oddar Meanchey. At Thmor Doun village, smoke is seen billowing out apparently from something or perhaps villagers' houses being burnt.
