The Kingdom of Cambodia has been preparing to host the 32nd ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) scheduled to take place from Sept. 18 to 24, 2011. H.E. Cheam Yeap, chairman of the Commission on Economy, Finance, Banking and Auditing of the National Assembly, told a meeting here yesterday.
The opening ceremony will be held at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh under the presidency of National Assembly Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, he said, adding that NA delegates from the ten ASEAN member countries and representatives from eleven observer countries are expected to join the event.
According to a draft document of the AIPA organizing committee, the main theme for the 32nd AIPA is the Roles of AIPA in building ASEAN community towards prosperity in the region. -- Sokmom Nimul --AKP
