Bilateral Trade With China Rises by 216% in First Quarter of 2011

Cambodia-China bilateral trade has seen a remarkable increase during the first quarter of 2011, according to the Ministry of Commerce.

From January to March 2011, the trade volume of the two countries rose to US$498 million from US$157.5 million, or an increase of 216 percent, if compared to the same period of last year, it said.

Cambodia's main exports to China are agricultural products, rubbers, fish, timbers, and textiles, while its main imports from China include garment raw materials, machinery, foodstuff, electronics, furniture, light products, medicines and cosmetics.

Last year, the total bilateral trade volume between Cambodia and China reached US$1.4 billion. Both sides are committed to boost it up to US$2.5 billion by 2012.
