Latest Update on Fresh Border Armed Clashes Between Cambodian and Thai Troops

-- As of 1150 gun battles involving artillery shellings and gunfire between Cambodian and Thai troops have stopped. Deum Ampil online

-- Local sources such as Cambodia Express News and Deum Ampil News have reported that the Thai military are using cluster bombs in the border armed clashes. Deum Ampil news online has reported that "as of 1120 am Thailand continue to fire cluster bombs into Kou village of Banteay Ampil district. Cambodia Express News online reports in its running breaking news headlines that "Thailand has used internationally-banned bombs that explode in the space".

-- According to Cambodian senior military officials, Thai miltiary have fired 6 cluster bombs to Kou village of Kouk Mon commune, Banteay Ampil district.  Deum Ampil online

-- Senior military officials have told Deum Ampil that during the gunfire initiated by Thai aggression from 0615 through 1024, Thai troops were firing 700-800 artillery shells into Cambodian side.  Twelve 155-mm shells were fired into Kouk Mon village, 500 shells of 130-mm type into Pos Thom village, and 3 shells were fired into Banteay Ampil Disctict Hall. Two villagers' houses were hit and burnt down. No villagers are wounded as they have already been evacuated. The officials added that up until now there have been no reports of Cambodian troops casualties, saying that Cambodian troops have fired and hit many Thai military targets.
